Inter school events offer much more rewards to children than just winning prizes. They play a major role in motivating children toexhibit their skills, develop confidence and explore the world around them. Hillwoods School, Gandhinagar organized HILLWOODS FEST- 2023 in association with the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST). A plethora of events was conducted under various titles. The theme of the event was Young Minds G -20 Summit which was very well incorporated in the different events that were planned for different categories. Dr. Narottam Sahoo, a scientist by profession and the Advisor, Member Secretary GUJCOST, inaugurated the event through lighting of a lamp. He addressed the gathering and enlightened the audience on the launch of Aditya L1- India’s first space-based mission dedicated to the sun. He also talked about the achievements of India as an emerging space giant and encouraged students to achieve great heights and be a witness to the new India. He appreciated the efforts put in by Hillwoods School in organizing the event and encouraged more such events in future. A quiz was conducted on G-20 Summit. The response from the students was worth appreciating. Students from various schools across Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad participated in the event. The fest included numerous interesting events such as Matho-Meter, Sparkle Science, Chitrotsav, Thinking aloud, App development, Commerce Exhibition, Dance and other activities fostering the creative genius in children. The main highlight of the show was the live streaming of the launch of Aditya L1 which was witnessed by all the participating schools. Mr. Abhishek Gor, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, PDEU took an interactive session with the participants. He discussed the key features of the mission and its objectives. The event concluded with the announcement of awards for the winners. The winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the judges. The students had an enriching experience. It was an opportunity for them to showcase their talent as well as to introspect on the outcomes.
