Christmas is a time to give and forgive. It brings with itself the special message of hope, happiness, joy and merriment. The Primary section of our school conducted a Christmas activity on 8th December 2022. As the teachers gave specific instructions, children listened carefully and then carried them with neatness and accuracy. Children created unique shapes and structures to showcase their finesse in paper craft. They made beautifully decorated Christmas tree, bells and Santa Claus with great pleasure. The activity was not only a fun-filled experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means to develop artistic skills in the young ones. Transforming a piece of paper into an object is a unique exercise. It sharpens the attention and concentration ability of a child. Children participated in this creative activity with great zeal and high spirits.

As a part of National Mathematics Day celebration, the primary students participated in an activity conducted on December 9, 2022 .In order to teach children the use of mathematics in day to day life, a special outreach activity titled as “RED ROOF GALLERIA (Shopper’s Surprise)” was designed. Students of Grade 5 had set up a mini market in the school auditorium. They had put up different shops like Grocery shop (Groceteria), Medicine Shop (Health Hub), Gift Shop (The Gift Den), Utensils Shop (Kitchenaire), Vegetables and Fruits Shop (Fresh Fresh), Bakery Shop (We R Cakies). The students prepared the related items for the shops by using empty boxes wrapped in an attractive manner with labels and price tag. Some of them acted as shopkeepers. Students of Grade 3 and Grade 4 purchased the things as customers. For this they had prepared different denominations resembling the real ones. They also got the bills for the things they purchased. Other Grade students and teachers also visited the market. All the students were very enthusiastic and enjoyed the event. It was a great real life learning experience for them.

Hillwoods School organised a Poster making activity for the students of class IV and V on 1ST December 2022. The Theme for the competition was ‘Nutritious Food for our Health’. The topics were allotted and the students expressed their views and thoughts on the given topics by drawing and writing quotes. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the students had in their presentation. The students displayed their artistic skills through the exquisitely designed posters. The activity kept the students engaged and gave them a platform to explore their creativity and to showcase their skills. The Posters looked wonderful when displayed. The activity was not only a fun-filled experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means for the young ones to understand the significance of healthy food in their life.
